Margaret L. “Marge” Seitz, 91, rejoined her husband John early in the morning of August 7, 2013. Having worked at the University of Akron and Weaver Workshop, Marge spent her retirement focusing her love and generosity on John as well as her children and grandchildren.
Cooking for others was her passion, as was caring for her family’s needs. She enjoyed watching the Cavs and professional golf. Marge had a wonderful sense of humor and never met a dog or a half-gallon of Butter Pecan ice cream she didn't like. She spent the last four years living in Green, allowing her family the opportunity to repay her years of kindness by permitting them to care for her.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Marge’s beloved Dr. Kretchmer and the Palliative Care staff at Summa Akron City Hospital.
Preceded in death by her husband, John and brothers, John and William, she leaves behind sons, John (Mary), of Pleasant City and Mike (Jamie) of Akron; daughter, Maggi (Barry) Hollis, of Green; granddaughters, Katie, Samantha and Jennifer; grandson, Chris (Melanie); and great-grandchildren, Ephraim, Luella and Ezra; and her beloved bird, Bella.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Joseph Lee officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for two hours prior to the service, from 5 – 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to One of a Kind Pets or to the Haven of Rest.
