Margaret M. “Peggy” Hartney (Horn), 87, passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside September 12, 2015.
She was born in Akron to the late William and Marie Nitz, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hartney; sons, David and Gary Horn; and sisters, Elsie Neff, Ruth Hughes, Lois Nicholson and Doris Hogan. She is survived by her children, Rita (Dick) Kelley, Earl (Dody) Horn, Darlene (Bob) Haren and Faye Grady; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Bill Nitz; Angel and Jinx; and other relatives and friends.
Peggy enjoyed her children, grandchildren, casinos, swimming, playing cards and recently, her finger-printing events at Gasp.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home, 760 E. Market St. The funeral service will be Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Goodyear Heights United Methodist Church, 1690 Hillside Terrace, with Pastor Sam Martin officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gasp, 53 University Ave., 4th Floor Akron, OH 44308.
