Marian A. Syler, 83, passed away at home on June 29, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was born in Standard Shaft, PA to the late Paul and Marie (Repko) Varholla and was an Akron resident for most of her life.
Marian dedicated her life to her family, was and avid Bingo player and loved cats.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandsons, Jeff and Paul Smith; brothers, William and Johnny; and sister, Marge. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, William; children, Pat Delaney, Frank (Dot) Smith, Bill (Jenny) Smith, Theresa (Terry) Brachna and William (Dawn) Syler Jr.; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty and Sue Ann; niece, Rose Marie Long; and many other loving relatives and friends.
The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to the staff and nurses of Hospice of Summa.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Patty Irving officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Calling hours will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 2, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m.
