Mary Irene (Haught) Agarand, 94, passed away February 4, 2011. She was born in Harrisville, OH to the late Beryl H. and Bertha Ann (McKown) Haught and had been an Akron area resident for most of her life. She was a Springfield High School graduate and retired from Goodyear Aerospace with 25 years of service.
She was a very active person who enjoyed sewing, gardening, fishing, playing cards, cooking and ice cream. She also loved traveling, especially to the family cabin where she could enjoy nature and animals.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Red” and brother, John Paul Haught. She is survived by her daughter, Anita; son, Walter Herbert; granddaughter, CWO4 (ret) LeAnn and Gy Sgt USMC (ret) Ernest Ramirez; grandson, Paul; great-granddaughter, Stephanie Ramirez; sister, Ernestine Lyons; brother, Beryl Jr. (Jean) Haught; and other loving relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 11 am at Sawyerwood United Methodist Church, 956 Mohawk Trail, Akron, OH 44312, with Pastor Joyce Williams officiating. Interment at Sunset Hills Burial Park and Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service, from 10 – 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.
