Mary A. Sehika was born April 16, 1925 in Akron, the daughter of the late Peter and Katherine (Rabb) Petrlich and passed away January 6, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Pete and her son, Charles.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Patricia (David) Youtz and Lynn Sehika; beloved grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Grams and Brion (Carissa) Youtz; and she was the much loved “GrandMary” to great-grandsons, Trevor and Spencer Grams and Colin and Owen Youtz.
Mary retired from the University of Akron but made her real career being a wife, mother and friend. We will miss her.
Mom – we take comfort in knowing that you can now walk without pain, see clearly and always remember that “we love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck!”
The family wishes to thank her caregivers over the past four years for their many kindnesses and Crossroads Hospice for their help on her final journey.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St. Private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association or Crossroads Hospice.
