Mary Jane Christie, 96, passed away May 20, 2015. Born in Akron to Charles and Jennie (McKnight) Whetstone, she graduated from East High School and was a member of Family of Faith United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by husband, Christopher E.; sisters, Jacqueline Whetstone and Dorothy Gandee; daughter in-law, Carol (Prettyman) Christie; and niece, Sandra Gannon. She will be sadly missed by sons, Bill, Chuck (Jacqueline) and Kit (Trish); 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; niece, Linda Sentelik; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews and friends.
Calling hours will be held TODAY, May 22, from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home & Chapel, 760 E. Market St. The funeral service will be Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Family of Faith, 800 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44305 with Rev. Ron Shultz officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Family of Faith.
