Mildred R. “Millie” Blount, 89, passed away in her home July 23, 2016 in the arms of her loving family. Born in Elk Garden, WV to Warner and Eva (Clark) Aronhalt, she had resided in the Akron area since 1930. Millie graduated from Hammel Business College and worked as a long time office manager for the Buchholzer Family, notably Chapel Hill Mall and Barton Realty. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, James and Paul Aronhalt, and sister, Betty Zebedis. Millie will be sadly missed by her daughter, Eva (Gary) Burkhardt of NC; grandchildren, Tonya (Jason) Jackson of NC, Tracy Burkhardt and Brian Burkhardt, both of CO; sister, Mary Casserman of Green; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may call Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 12 to 2:00 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home & Chapel, 760 E. Market St. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Terry Bartlett officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to Akron General Hospice/Visiting Nurse Service or the Lustgarten Foundation: www.lustgarten.org
