Mildred I. “Millie” Durbin, 71, went home to be with the Lord on July 25, 2014. She was born in Jackson,WV and lived most of her life in the Barberton area. She retired from K-Mart after 35 years service and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved humming birds, her family & friends, growing her garden & flower beds and sharing her cooking with others.
Millie was preceded in death by parents, Glenwood and Rowena, and brother, Donald Phillips. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Mike Durbin; sisters, Viola Legge, Nina Hatch, Roberta Miller & Ginny Tomeka; brothers, Frank, Lester, Bob, Homer and Olson Phillips; sisters in-law, Hazel McCormick, Gail Durbin and many nieces, nephews, friends and special neighbors.
The funeral service will take place Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St. The family will receive friends for TWO HOURS prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift may be made in Millie's name to the Summit County Children’s Home, 264 S. Arlington St, Akron, OH 44306.
