Mournain Pauline (Tucker) Shepherd

January 29, 1920 — July 19, 2016

Mournain P. Shepherd, 96, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on July 19, 2016. She was born in Woodbury, TN to the late William and Martha (Youngblood) Tucker and moved to Akron at the age of 14. She retired from the M. O’Neil Company in 1980 and was a member of the Springfield Senior Citizens.

Mournain was an avid Bingo and Yahtzee player, loved gardening (especially her famous pole beans), and loved traveling back home to Tennessee with her sister, Opal.  She loved being outside on her swing and enjoyed telling her stories to anyone that would listen.

She is survived by her son, Richard W. (Rita); daughter, Frances (Terry); and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E.; son, Larry; daughters, Carol and Shirley; grandchildren, Debbie, Kevin, Timmy and Joey; sister, Opal Hyatt; and brothers, Doyle, Wiley and Cecil.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Summa for their care of Mournain, especially Adrienne.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home & Chapel, 760 E. Market St. Calling hours will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the funeral, from 10 – 11 a.m. with burial at Hillside Memorial Park.
