Norma L. (Langham) Henson

Norma L. Henson, 77, went home to be with the Lord on September 14, 2022. She was born in Barton, Maryland to the late George and Mary (Moffatt) Langham, and moved to Akron in her late teens.

After 45 years of dedicated service, Norma retired from United Disability Services, where she enriched the lives of countless disabled people around Summit County.  In her spare time Norma enjoyed reading, studying the Bible, traveling and many creative endeavors.  She dabbled in drawing and painting and her stained glass creations have been enjoyed by many.  She adored her “runaway weekends” with her sisters.  She also loved the challenge of Geocaching all over the world.  She was a selfless servant who always put others ahead of herself, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jr. and sister, Carol Kyle. Norma is survived by her four children, Thomas III (Petra), Rod (Deb), Russ and Melissa; 7 grandchildren, Thomas IV, Stephanie, Toby, Jake (Taylor), Clay (Ashley), Rylee and Ashley; and 8 great-grandchildren, Kaia, Evelyn, Ellery and Renner, William, Kaylyn, Carter, and Carson; siblings, Georgie (John) Shuhart, Kathy (Ed) Peterson and Joe (Barbara Jean) Langham; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Calling hours will be Monday, September 19, 2022 at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44305 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 with Pastor Ron Shultz officiating, burial at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
