Oberia J. Brothers, 90, went home to be with the Lord on June 1, 2014. She was born in Akron to the late Rolfe and Lora (Allen) Buchanan and was a lifelong area resident. She earned a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Akron and taught at Old Trail, Mogadore and Akron public schools. She was a member of Montrose Zion United Methodist Church.
Oberia is survived by her husband of 66 years, Karl; sons, Randall (Nancy) and Eric; granddaughters, Katie (Michael) Moore and Annie; and great-grandsons, Jeffrey and Will.
The family expresses special thanks to the staff at the Village at St. Edward and VITAS Hospice Care.
Per her wishes, a private burial was held at Uniontown Greenlawn Cemetery. A private family memorial will be held later.
