Ocelia G Cooper

November 12, 1921 — May 2, 2011

Ocelia Gay Cooper, 89, passed away May 2, 2011.  Born in Sutton, West Virginia, she lived most of her life in the Akron area.  Mrs. Cooper retired from Akron General Medical Center with many years service in the admitting office.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel; brother, Tommy Sigman; and sister, Janet McMillion.  She is survived by her sons, Larry (Peggy), Dan (Mary), Mark (Rose), and Jeffery (Barb); daughters, Patricia Cooper and Janet Hoyt; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and brothers, Charles, Warren, and Patrick Sigman.

The funeral service will be Thursday, May 5, 2011, at 1:00 p.m., at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St, with Rev. Mike Prebynski officiating.  Interment Hillside Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 5, for TWO HOURS prior to the service, from 11 - 1 p.m.

The family of Mrs. Cooper would like to extend a grateful thank you to the staff of Windsong Care Center for the loving care and attention they gave to their mother.
