Patricia A. Skinner, 75, passed away July 4, 2013. She was born in Akron to the late James and Emily (Ladd) Jones and was a graduate of Garfield High School. She retired from the Akron Board of Education with 40 years of service and was a member of Wedgewood United Methodist Church.
Pat was devoted to her family and loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports. She also enjoyed traveling and lighthouses.
Preceded in death by her brother, Richard, she is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bob; sons, Bob (Martha), Rick (Tracy) and Chris (Michele); 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rue (Paul); and many other loving family members and friends.
The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to the staffs of Concordia at Sumner, the 5th floor at Akron General Hospital and the Hospice Care Center on Ridgewood.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 8, 2013 at 6 p.m. at Wedgewood United Methodist Church, 2350 Wedgewood Dr., with Rev. Karen Hartley officiating. Calling hours will be at the church for two hours prior to the service, from 4 – 6 p.m. Private interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Visiting Nurse 3358 Ridgewood Dr., Akron, OH 44333.
