Patricia A. Cross, 62, ran into the arms of her Lord on December 3, 2015. She was born in Dry Branch, WV to the late C.W. and Myrtle Slack and earned an Associate Degree from Hammel Business College.
Patty worked in admissions at Malone College, and later became a foster provider for REM-Ohio and independently through the state DD board. She also volunteered for APS and PSS.
She was an accomplished pianist who longed to teach and share her love of music with others. Most of all, she was devoted to her family, proudly holding the title of “best grandma in the world”.
Preceded in death by her brother, Ricky, she is survived by her husband, Jennings; sons, Scott (Ida), Shawn (Jackie) and Seth (Nisha); grandchildren, Rachel, Madison, Isaac, Selah, Jacobi, Alyssa, Kaitlyn and Lucas; sisters, Bonnie, Nancy and Shirley; and many other loving relatives and close friends.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 7, 2015 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St. The funeral will be Tuesday, December 8, at 2 p.m. at Walnut Creek Mennonite Church, 2619 County Road 144, Sugarcreek, OH 44681 where friends may visit for one hour prior to the service, from 1 – 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven of Rest or Akron Pregnancy Services.
