Penny L. Barron

Penny L. Barron, 57, passed away September 23, 2022. She was born in Akron to the late Herman and Wilma (Gibson) Barron and was a graduate of the Weaver School. She worked at the Weaver Workshop, where she was affectionately known as “the boss”. She also loved dancing, cats, and Lost in Space. She will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert and sister, Janet. She is survived by her siblings, John (Liz) Barron, Anne (Scott) Wickes, Susan (Mark) Douglas, Greg (Kelly) Freedman and Carol (Juan) Mar Velazquez; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to give specials thanks to Chris and Mary Lappin for their dedicated care of Penny. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Matthew Pfeiffer officiating. Calling hours will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, from 10 – 11 a.m., with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
