Ralph Lawry

Ralph Lawry, 94, passed away February 15, 2012. He was born in Akron to the late Nicholas and Bertha (Warren), was a graduate of Buchtel High School and attended the University of Akron. He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from Goodyear Aerospace with over 40 years of service as an engineer. He moved to Jackson Township in 1967 and remained there the rest of his life.

Ralph was a member of the US Power Squadron since 1945, was a long-time member of the South Shore Yacht Club and belonged to the Goodyear Retirees.

Preceded in death by his wife, Mary, he is survived by his children, Robert (Janet), Jeanne (Jerry) Case and Barbara Trent; grandchildren, Robert Jr., Jerry Jr., Eric, Michael and Staci; great-grandchildren, Mason, McKenzie, Andrew, Matthew, Michael Jr., and Noelle; brother, Hurl (Juanita); sister, Marjorie (Bill) Shives; niece, Chris and nephews, Jim and Bill.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 12 noon at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Mike Prebynski officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, from 11 a.m. – 12 noon.
