Richard A. Marsh

Richard A. "Dick" Marsh, 83, passed away peacefully December 25, 2024 in Caldwell, OH. He was born in Akron to the late James and Goldie (Moore) Marsh. Dick was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, and he retired from the Akron Fire Department with 25 years of service.

Dick was a congregant of Oak Hill United Presbyterian Church in Ellet, and he served his community through his many works at Oak Hill, the Ellet Amateur Athletic Association, Kiwanis, and Challenge Golf.

Dick was a loyal friend who was generous with his time and energy. He was also an avid golfer, bowler, youth sports coach, and Ohio State fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Birtha (Marsh) Hileman, James Donald, Ruby Joyce, Ronald, Robert, Ralph and Charles. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy; daughters Michelle Marsh (Robert Wright), Jennifer (Kevin) Foss, and Carolyn (Patrick) Spurgeon; grandchildren, Haley Foss, Brendan Foss, and Addison Spurgeon; nephew Brian Marsh and partner Stacey Brooks; and great-nephew Andy.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Presbyterian Church, 2406 Ardwell Ave., Akron, OH 44305 with Pastor Brian Nutt officiating. Calling hours will be at church prior to the service from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm, with burial at Hillside Memorial Park.
