Robert Lee Gorham

Robert L. Gorham , 91, went to be with his Lord on January 11, 2019. He was born in Akron to the late Harry and Helen (Wykoff) and was a 1946 Garfield High School graduate. He was a US Army veteran and retired from Goodyear with 43 years of service.

Bob was also a long-time member of the Akron Baptist Temple, was past Master of the Coventry-Akron Masonic Lodge #83, past Commander-in-Chief of AASR Valley of Akron and was a 33rd degree Mason. He loved spending winters in Florida with his wife, Lois, and enjoyed golf and wood-working.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Russell; sister, Pauline Heitzenrater; brother, Glen; and daughter-in-law, Karen. He is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Robert (Roxanne), Raymond (Sheila), Tammy Garrett and Roger; step-children, Rodney (Chris) Ebert and Kathy (Paul) Garn; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 2 - 4 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with a Masonic service at 3 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Monday, January 14 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Ed Holland and Rev. Larry Knight officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
