Robert A. Lammlein Jr., 63, passed away unexpectedly April 6, 2011. He was born in Akron to the late Robert Sr. and Mildred (Zindler) and was a lifelong resident. He worked as a mechanical engineer for Goodyear for over 40 years and held over 7 US patents, along with 58 international patents and five trade secrets. He attended Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Bob was an accomplished athlete, completing 20 marathons, and was ranked 8th in Ohio and 114th nationally in his age group as a triathlete. He was also an avid Lake Erie boater on his boat “FinishLine”, and was a member of the Vermillion Power Boat Yacht Club and the Battery Park Marina.
He is survived by his companion of 18 years, Maryann Fisher; sister, Betty Adams; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2011, at 4 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for TWO HOURS prior to the service, from 2 – 4 p.m. Friends who wish may make a donation to the charity of one’s choice in memory of Bob.
