Robert G. Petty, 83, passed away May 21, 2014. Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, he worked as a groundskeeper for the Akron Metro Parks and was an avid horse racing fan.
Preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Dillie; and daughter, Barbara Hurst. Robert is survived by his daughter, Louise (James) Mauller; sisters, Betty Hershberger, Joann Mauller; grandchildren, James (Jody), Meredith (John), Noel (Bobbi), Angela (Ronald), Barbara (Larry); great-grandchildren, John, Mackenzie, Madison, Kylie, Morgan, Josie, Christian, Abby, Isabelle, Wyatt, Bianca and one on the way.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home, 760 E. Market St. with Pastor David Rosenberger officiating. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends TODAY Friday, May 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
