Robert A. Teeple, 77, passed away March 1, 2011. He was born in Akron to the late Ralph F. and May A. (Klink) and was a lifelong resident where he graduated from Hower Vocational High School in 1951. He was a veteran of the US Army stationed in Germany and retired from Uniroyal Goodrich with over 30 years of service.
Robert was also an avid collector of Model A cars and was active in many local clubs, including the Model A Ford Club, Rubber City Model A Club, Penn Ohio Model A Club, M.A.R.C. and M.A.F.C.A., and the Canton Chapter of A.A.C.A. He also enjoyed woodworking, bowling and water skiing.
He is survived by his sister, Wanda (Don) Zachary; brothers, David (Erma) and Leroy (Peggi); nieces and nephews, Michael, Raymond, Duane, Christal, David Jr., and Debra; 6 great-nieces and nephews and 1 great-great nephew.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 6 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Pastor Elmer Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for two hours prior to the service, from 4 – 6 p.m. Private inurnment with military honors will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH.
