In 1970, he and Bob Shepherd started Shepherd & Vrbanac, one of the first discount stock brokerages in Ohio. Later on he purchased Shepherd’s interest in the firm, before selling it and retiring at the age of 81. He was also a member of The Chapel in Akron.
Preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers, Bob leaves a son, Robert L. (Cathy); granddaughters, Kristy and Rachael; great-grandchildren, Tory, Alec and Finn. He considered himself very blessed to have had two wonderful people in his life: Donna, who passed away in 1990 and Faye, who he didn’t meet until 2004.
A memorial service will take place Thursday, January 14 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home & Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Wanda Payne officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home for ONE HOUR prior to the service, between 1 -2 p.m. Inurnment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery will take place at later date next to his first wife Donna.
