Ronald W. Corbin, 70, passed away July 31, 2012. He was born in Akron to the late Merle and Lucy (Warder) and was a veteran of the US Army. He earned a bachelors degree from the University of Akron and was a music teacher for a number of years in Springfield and Tallmadge. Ron was also the organist and choir director at Forest Hill Community Church and Woodland United Methodist Church.
He is survived by is brother, Terry (Deborah); his loving companion of over 40 years, Ruth Rex; his uncle, Bill; and many cousins and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 10 am at Woodland United Methodist Church, 444 N. Hawkins Ave. Akron, OH 44313 with Rev. Debbie Gibbons officiating. Interment at Mt. Peace cemetery with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 281. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 2, at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., from 4 – 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the music programs of Woodland UM Church or Forest Hill Community Church, 724 Damon St. Akron, OH 44310.
