Ruth M. Stalder, 91, passed away August 8, 2015. She was born in Akron to the late Walter and Florence (Troyer) Garske, was a Garfield High School graduate and lived most of her life in Cuyahoga Falls.
Ruth was a member of Tallmadge Lutheran Church and was a former long-time member of Concordia Lutheran, where she served as church secretary for many years. She was also a proud volunteer at Falls General Hospital.
Preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, she is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Marsha) and Robert (Varunee); sisters, Marjorie (Jerry) Gillespie and Eleanor (Ray) Thomsen; grandchildren, Robert (Elizabeth), Victoria, Sarah and Paul; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express sincere thanks and appreciation to the many wonderful, caring, and compassionate staff at The Merriman and the entire Hospice of Summa staff, and the many friends and acquaintances.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home & Chapel, 760 E. Market St. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 12, at 11 a.m. at Tallmadge Lutheran Church, 759 East Ave., Tallmadge, OH 44278 with Pastor Andy Alberts and Pastor David Zachrich officiating. The family will also receive friends from 10 - 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tallmadge Lutheran.
