Ruth K. Willig, 90, went to be with the Lord December 28, 2011. She was born in Akron to the late Stephen and Katherine Willig and was a lifelong resident. She retired from United Airlines with over 30 years service and was a member of Northampton Bible Church. Ruth also loved gardening and devoted her life to her family, who will miss her dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Katherine, Madlyn, Bette, Stephen and Earl. She is survived by her sister, Donna; 18 nieces and nephews; 55 great-nieces and nephews; and 37 great-great nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Pastor John Hopson officiating. Interment at Mount Peace Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, from 10 – 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Village at St. Edward, 3131 Smith Rd., Akron, OH 44333.
