Sherman Richard "Dick" Rex

Sherman Richard “Dick” Rex, 76, passed away November 22, 2014. He was born in Akron to the late Carl and Marguerite (Bailey) Rex and was a veteran of the United States Navy. As part of a military family, Dick lived in many places throughout the country, including Compton, CA where he was a member of the Teamsters Local 572. He returned to Akron full time in 1998.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Acello and siblings, David, Bill and Linda Rex and Pat Hoffmeyer. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Jo; son, Steve; grandsons, Chris and Nick; great-granddaughter, Hannah; sister, Ruth; brother, Jim; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, November 28, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Rittman, OH 44270.
