Sophie L. Elefritz

Sophie L. Elefritz, 88, passed away peacefully at home January 12, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born in Erbacon, WV to the late Averal and Juanita Casto and was an Akron resident most of her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd and brothers, Larry and Bob. She is survived by her children, Lloyd Elefritz, Connie Kuzmik, Gary Elefritz and David (Dora) Elefritz; grandchildren, Nick (Laura), Matt (Alana), Krystal (Joey), Erin (Sean), Kristin (Alex), Sara (Sean), Kayla, Gary II, Ed (Heather), Ryan (Isabella), Logan and Josh; 10 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Myrna Russell, Gary (Sharon) Casto and Terry (Libby) Casto; daughters of her heart, Joyce, Pam and Jamie; and sister of her heart, Cathy. .

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 12 – 1:30 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44305 with burial to follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Per Sophie’s wishes, everyone is requested to wear jeans and be comfortable.
