Susan D. Gilbert

Susan D. Gilbert, 65, passed away May 7, 2021. She was born in Akron to the late Hunter F. and Susie Mae (Martin) Gilbert and was an East High School graduate. Susan always enjoyed helping others and served the community as a nurse’s aid for over 30 years, retiring from St. Edward Nursing Home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ricky G. Gilbert and uncle, Leon Martin. She is survived by her daughters, Latoya (Troy) Looney and LaTasha Farrey; grandchildren, Troyana Warren and Ijah and Syre Farrey; sisters, Gloria Gilbert, Julia (Harold) Gilbert and KayLynn (Rick) Sheppert; sister-in-law, Linda “Lyn” Gilbert; aunts, Doris, Gerry, Linda and Nancy; ex-husband, LeMar Farrey; and a host of cousins and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 10 am – 12 noon at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St. The funeral ceremony will immediately follow at 12 noon.
