Thelma Jeanne Morrow, nee Myers, 91, passed away September 24, 2011. Jeanne was born February 3, 1920, in Barberton and moved with her family to Akron, in 1936, where she graduated from Central High School in 1938. She was employed by the Akron Public Schools for 27 years, primarily at Henry Elementary School, in the music and attendance departments. Mrs. Morrow retired in March 1986. She was a member of the Akron Public School Secretaries Association and Retired Elementary Secretaries, and was a Life Member of the National Secretaries Association. Jeanne was President of Spicer Elementary School PTA for 2 years and Central High School PTA for one year
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Harold; parents, Fred and Emma Myers; brother, Allan Myers; sisters, Martha Grigsby and Evelyn McCrork. She is survived by sons, Ronald (Roberta) and Dana (Deborah); 7 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St, with Rev. Ron Shultz, and Fr. Jim Semonin officiating. Interment Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 27, from 5 to 7 p.m.
