Thomas Wayne Wirth

April 30, 1947 — April 15, 2012

Thomas Wayne Wirth, 64, passed away April 15, 2012 in King George, VA. He was born in Akron on April 30, 1947 and had lived much of his life in the Kent-Ravenna area. He attended Happy Days School of Ravenna and Portage Industries for 46 years, 17 of those working at Chicken Manor, and was an active member of the Christian Life Center of Kent.

Tom was also a member of the Royal Rangers and Promise Keepers, participated in many Food Fair Walk-a-Thons, ran booths for Randolph County Fair and rode in parades for Happy Days. He enjoyed bowling, dancing, fishing and the Pinewood Derby.

Preceded in death by his father, Donald, and aunts, Harriet (Robert) Varner and Alice (Everett) Willis, he is survived by his mother, Barbara; sister, Kathy (Philip) Lehman, of VA; niece, Tammy (Jonallen) Riggins; nephew, Matthew Lehman; great-nephew, Cole Riggins; cousins, Judy Dotts and Carol Kinzer, and a host of loving friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Christian Life Center, 5931 Rhodes Avenue, Kent, with Rev. Tommy Poulin officiating. The family will receive friends at the church for two hours prior to the service, from 10 am – 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Happy Days or Portage Industries.
