Vera Lea Backus, 83, passed away December 30, 2010. Born in West Virginia, she lived most of her life as a housewife in Akron.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Audie. She is survived by her sons, David, and Lee (Lanelle) Backus; daughters, Dorothy Hall, Jeanette Lovelace, and Charlotte (Harold) Reusch; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Vanda Scott; and special family friend, Rick Kowaleski.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St. Interment at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 4, from 4 to 6 p.m.
