Violet M. Hale, 88, went home to be with the Lord December 14, 2012. She was born in Matherville, IL to the late John and Josephine (Burich) Kovachevich, proud immigrants from Croatia who came to America to provide a better life for their family. She was a former active member of St. Sebastian and The Chapel, and was a current member of Stow Presbyterian Church.
Violet loved spending time on the beach and the family boat at Lake Erie and was a world traveler with her husband (and lived in Florida for 10 years). She was also an avid reader, loved gardening and flowers, and enjoyed her Bridge and Pinochle card groups.
More than anything, she was devoted to her family as a loving wife, mother grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard, Frank and Victor; sister, Frances; and four infant children. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert; children, David Jr. and Mari (Dr. Steven) Fox; grandchildren, Rob (Kelli), William (Jennifer), Karre (Lance) Orton and Amy (Mike) Adkins; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie and Anne; and brother, John.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 3 p.m. at the Lawrence Saltis Plaza, 3000 Graham Rd., Stow, OH 44224, with Pastor William Hale officiating. Private interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Haven of Rest.
