On March 9, 2011, Mary Virginia Floyd, 87, was called home to be with the Lord with her family by her side. The last few years had been very hard for her and now she suffers no more.
She was born in Parkersburg, WV to the late Edward and Ida (Davis) Gates and was a lifelong resident of Akron and a life member of Wedgewood United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James, and sisters, Doris, Eleanor and Clara. She is survived by sons, James (Kitty) and Bob; daughters, Carol (Joe) Horvath and Beverly Stephen; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews. We all love you and will see you again soon.
The funeral service will be held Monday, March 14, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Karen Hartley officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday for ONE HOUR prior to the service from 10 - 11 am.
