Wanda I. Helms, 84, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2014. She will be remembered for her kind loving heart, her love of family, her big hugs and kisses, and her sweet beautiful smile. She enjoyed bowling, playing checkers and Bingo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Crystal and Hugh Smith; husband, Lyle; sons, Robert and Charles; sisters, Naomi, Margie, Pat, Shirley and Merry; and brother, Junior. She is survived by her daughter, Crystal (Jim Uhl); grandchildren, Danny (Monalisa) Jones, Katrina (Brian) Houk; Robert (Robin) Helms, Ryan (Ginny) Helms, Aaron Helms, Veronica Helms and Eric Weese; 9 great-grandchildren; and other loving relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with her grandson, Pastor Danny Jones eulogizing. Friends may call at the funeral home for two hours prior to the service, from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm with interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
