William “Bill” Cross, 84, went home to be with his Lord June 2, 2015 after a brief illness.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 65 years, Beverly; children, William “Skip” (Natalie), of NC and daughter, Gail (David) Vigliotti, of AZ; grandchildren, Kelly Graves, of Kent, Katie Roberts, of SC, Sarah Harzfeld, of AZ, Michael Knotts, of PA, and Rachel and Erik Parker, of AZ; and 3 great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Cross and sister, Carol Taylor.
Bill was born in Akron on October 1, 1930 to the late William and Elna (Pedersen) Cross and was a veteran of the US Navy. He retired from The Chapel to care full-time for his ailing wife, but remained an active member and teacher. He also taught Bible studies in the Chapel Hill Towers community where he lived and served as a Gideon for many years, speaking and placing Bibles.
Calling hours will be Friday, June 5, 2014 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at The Chapel Green Campus, 1800 Raber Rd., Uniontown, OH 44685. A graduation service will immediately follow at 7:30 with Rev. Mike Castelli officiating.
