Zora M. Jones, 98, went home to be with the Lord November 2, 2013. She was born in Ashe County, NC to the late Larkin and Minnie (Miller) Winebarger and was a long-time East Akron resident. She retired from Richman Brothers Clothing and was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple, where she sang in the choir for over 30 years. Zora loved cooking, sewing and her family and she will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Romelus; sisters, Ada and Aulcie; brothers, infant Glen, Walter, Charles, Worth, Earl and daughter-in-law Mary Lucetta. She is survived by her son, Linney (Sue); grandchildren, Tammy Leaver and Norman Jones; step-grandchildren, Douglas Feiock, Robert Feiock and Jennie Schut; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Steve Kimbrel officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. Calling hours will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 5 from 6 – 8 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, from 12 – 1 p.m.
