Betty J. Pinder

Betty J. Pinder, 91, passed away May 6, 2022. She was born in Akron to the late Herman and Eulema (Stone) Bousum, was an East High School graduate and earned an Associate’s Degree from the University of Akron. She retired from Akron City Hospital, was an active former member of St. Matthew Parish and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, and siblings, Harry, Kate, Phyllis and Lucille. She is survived by her children, Paula (Marty) Balazs, Beverly (John) Rodeheffer, Kenneth (Joanne) Pinder, and William Pinder; grandchildren, Aaron, Jenna, Sydney, Elizabeth, Lily (Fred), and Charles (Hannah); brother-in-law, John Pinder; and other loving relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Sunrise Assisted Living and Traditions Hospice.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where she will be reunited with her husband.
