Carolyn Sue Austin

Carolyn Sue Austin, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away March 29, 2022 at the age of 81, due to complications from a serious fall on January 27, 2022. She was born in Akron on July 26, 1940 to the late Thomas Sr. and Mary Pearl (Garrison) Ferguson. She was a 1958 graduate of Ellet High School and Hammel Actual Business College.

She leaves behind her daughters, Debi (Jim) Foss, Linda Docy, Lori (Darlene) Rotruck; grandchildren, Matthew (Alexandria) Foss, Joshua Foss, Jonathan (Emily) Foss, Kayli (Andrew) Leger, Brandin (Jade) Arteno, Kory (Allex) Somosko and Brooke (Tyler) Somosko; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Lincoln, Jonah, Charlotte, Morgan, Paizlee, Ava Grace, and Riley (who will be arriving in July); brother, John (Brenda) Ferguson; brother-in-law, Ronald (Barbara) Austin; caregivers/friends, Kelly Halman Crosier and Britney Kirkbride; and best friend Bonnie DiDonato.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, John Austin, who passed away just 9 days before her; youngest daughter, Coni Austin-Somosko; first husband, Ronald Rotruck; son-in-law, Jon Docy; and brother, Thomas Ferguson, Jr.

We would like to thank the nurses and staff at Summa/City Hospital for the outstanding care they provided for our mother and for the kindness they gave to our family.
