Claudia S. Cain

Claudia S. Cain, 84, passed away January 10, 2023. She was born in Akron to the late Claude and Ida (Edge) Vaughan and was a Mogadore High School graduate and proud lifelong resident. She was Past President of the Democratic Women’s Federation of Summit County from 1979 – 1981 and retired from the State of Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Hal D. Vaughan and sister, Karen L. Vaughan. She is survived by her daughters, Lora Cain and Leslie (Jon) Steffen; grandchildren, Jeffrey Ballenger (Chyna Glidden), Curtis (Carla) Ballenger, Travis (Ashley) Turnbow and Breanna (Brian) Straka; 15 great-grandchildren; and other loving relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Pastor Joe Burkhardt officiating. Calling hours will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, from 10 – 11 a.m., with burial at Hillside Memorial Park.
