Clifford Hill, 74, passed away November 27, 2021. He was born in Pikeville, KY to the late Elmer and Maudie (Cantrell) Hill and moved to Akron at the age of 19. He worked in construction for over 50 years and owned and operated CC Construction and Drywall.
Clifford was well known and respected in the construction industry. He would start almost every day with breakfast at the Coventry Diner before heading out on a job in Big Blue, his famous blue box truck. He also loved to fish. But more than anything, he was a great dad and Paw Paw who adored his grandchildren. He was kind-hearted and the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Nolan, Elza, Cleduice and Harold, and sisters, Loretta, Novella, Beulah, Lois, Rudella and Phyllis. He is survived by his sister, Patty Jean; children, Kimmie, C.J., James (Malia), Paul (Angel), Rachel (Daniel) and Josh; grandchildren, Ty, Andresen, Magnus, Semiyah, Giselle, Aydin, Lailah, Olivia, Raylee and Ethan; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44305. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Thursday, December 2 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Fred Webb officiating. Calling hours will be for one hour prior to the service, from 12 – 1 p.m. with burial at Lockwood Cemetery on Manchester Rd.
