Don Armbrust

Don Armbrust, 71, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 5, 2023 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susie; children, Michael (Angela) and Michelle (Matthew); five wonderful grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Alec, Evan, Adam, Dominic and Tony; brother, David (Mary Jane); his best friend and brother from another mother, Denny; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Don was a Teamster and worked as a dock/yardman for 32 years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed working at Sharon Golf Club for 20 years, and was also a life member of Wedgewood United Methodist Church. He was kind, confident and wise, with a great sense of humor.

Don was the best husband, father, papa and friend anyone could have ever asked for. He was our rock and will be deeply missed.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 2 – 4 p.m. at Wedgewood United Methodist Church, 2350 Wedgewood Drive, Akron, OH 44312. A memorial service will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Joe Burkhardt officiating. Bring your best stories. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Wedgewood UM “WE CARE” program and food pantry, which provide meals for the ill/just out of the hospital.
