Glennajean C. “Jean” Thom, 90, passed away April 26, 2021. She was born in Creekside, PA to the late Lee and Clara (Peterman) Henderson and was an Akron-area resident most of her life.
Jean was a long-time, active member of South Arlington UMC, serving in the children’s Sunday School program, and also ran an in-home day care for many years. She was a sweet, gentle and kind lady who will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; daughter, Shannon; brothers, Milo, Berton and Donald; and beloved pets, Maggie and Snickers. She is survived by her daughters, Vivian Hurte, Sharon Barnard and Susan; grandchildren, Adam (Brianna), Kara (Nick), Sarah (Wes) and Keli (Glenn); 3 great-grandchildren; and sister, Martha Henderson.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St. Calling hours will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, from 10 – 11 a.m., with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
