Joel J. Reed, age 73, passed away July 11, 2021. He was a decorated US Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from Goodyear with 40 years of service.
Joel was a life member of the DAV, Past Master of Joppa Lodge 666, member of the American Legion, the Star Lodge, and the Scottish Rite and 32nd Degree and Royal Arch Mason. He was also a lifetime member of the NRA and an active member of the Chapel, serving as an usher and deacon.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Lynda. He was always so proud of son Joel and loved his daughter-in-law Becky like a daughter. He cherished his granddaughters Corinne (Isaac) and Allie and called them “grandpa’s little darlings.” He loved his dog Lucky, who was always at his side. He is also survived by his brother, Estill (Trelvia) Reed; and sister-in-law Toby (Tim) Zuschin. Preceded by his parents Estill and Emogene (Harmon) Reed.
The family would like to thank Jackson Ridge Rehabilitation and Care, Crossroads Hospice, Dr. Kerek and Church of the Lakes for their compassionate care.
Private funeral will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Stark County Humane Society, the rescue where Joel adopted his dog, Lucky.
