Karen “Momo” Marie Brookman, 66, went to be with the Lord April 11, 2023. She was born November 15, 1956 in Hinton WV to the late Maryann Williams (Betleyoun) & the late John Ezra Brookman and graduated from Garfield High School in 1975. Karen enjoyed spending time with family and friends and her ole beagle dog “Squirrel”.
She leaves to mourn her children: Anthony (Tisha), Buffy (Michael), Mary (Lukk) and Charles (Felicia); grandchildren: Ashley, Tiara, Charnai, Talia, Anthony JR, Nikolas, Kayleeana, Young Johnny, Binaka, Breanna, Ezra, Mackenna (promise), Caroline (Unique), Darrius, Carson, Charlie, Riley, and King; 7 great-grandchildren (and 1 on the way); numerous nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law, friends and a very special person, Anthony Clark.
She was preceded in death by her companion of 30+ years, Charles Hayes; step-father, Richard Betleyoun Sr.; numerous aunts and uncles; 4 brothers, 1 sister; and her beloved nephew, Bryan Hegwood (Betleyoun).
Karen was definitely one of a kind, and anyone that knew her can attest to that. Her home was a safe-haven for many and her door was always open. Her silly punch lines and one-liners will go down in history ... like the legend she was. Her memory shall live on through all of us. W.A.W.G !
