Rhonald J. “John” Fleet, 96, passed away November 11, 2021. He was born in Akron and was a proud Navy veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific Theatre. After the war, he graduated from electrician’s school in 1951 and became a member of the Local 306, for whom he worked for many years.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Vesta (Grim) and George Fleet; wives. Lois and Nora Jane; and 8 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children, Ronald (Yan), Randy, Craig (Vicky) and Kimberly Huey; step-daughters, Starlla Dupert and Dreama Siers; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and other loving relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Todd Tackett officiating. Calling hours will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, from 10 – 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will immediately follow at Lakewood Cemetery.
