Roland D. Hill Jr.

Roland D. Hill Jr., 83, passed away peacefully at his home October 13, 2023. He was born in Akron to the late Roland Sr. and Leona (Rollins) Hill and was an Ellet High School graduate. He attended Bowling Green State University and graduated from Kent State.

Roland retired from Springfield Schools and owned and operated the Hill School of Music, where he enjoyed teaching and spreading his passion for the musical arts. He was also a member of Evermore Community Church in Hartville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra, and brother-in-law, Bob Swinehart. He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Peg”; children, Julie (Art) McCreary, Sherri (Chris) Dibble and Wendi (Michael) Pressler; grandchildren, Matt McCreary, Molly (Steve) Tweel, Hannah (Nick) Zajac, Christopher Dibble, Ryanne (Brennan) Howard and Austin Pressler (Hannah Isenhart); great-grandchildren, Grayson and Leighton Pressler; and sisters, Judy (Jack) Simonetti and Suzanne Swinehart.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 6 p.m. at Evermore Community Church, 1470 Smith Kramer St. NE, Hartville, OH 44632, with Rev. Terry Luccarelli officiating. Calling hours will be at church for two hours prior to the service, from 4 – 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Suffield EMS.
