William C. Christie, 80, passed away April 23, 2021. He was born in Akron to the late Christopher and Mary Jane (Whetstone) Christie, was an East High School graduate and earned a degree in Physics from the University of Akron.
William retired from Goodyear with over 30 years of service and was passionate about audio amplifier technology. His expertise allowed him to have multiple published writings in Audio Express. Later in life, he combined his love of beer, jazz, blues and spicy food as owner and operator of Crawdads Bar and Grill. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, and daughter-in-law, Nikki. He is survived by his children, John and Kim (Tom); grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jacob and Jeffrey; brothers, Chuck (Jacqueline) and Kit (Trish); and other loving relatives and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 10 a.m., Rev. Ron Shultz officiating, with burial at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
