William B. “Pappy” Leslie, 82, passed away May 18, 2023. He was born in Cleveland, OH to the late Robert and Nina Ruth (Rush) Leslie and was a Northfield High School graduate. Through his life he spent in Bedford, Atwater, Ellet and Tallmadge and was the owner and operator of Bill’s Antenna.
Bill “Pappy” was active in softball for many years including Tallmadge youth leagues, Walsh Jesuit High School, St. Vincent St. Mary and Tallmadge High School. He was an accomplished musician, especially playing guitar, and he loved music boxes, Elton John, EmmyLou Harris, Eva Cassidy and many more. He was passionate about the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. Some of the things he loved were, boating, thunderstorms, liver and onions, steak, lasagna, salad, strawberries, chocolate cake, oreos, Jell-O shots, toasted Cheerio’s, salt and butter and muck muck and ALL of us, and some of you. You know who you are.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Connie Lou, his son, William Jr. “Corky” and brother, Jack. He is survived by his children, Suzie (Donnie) Alexander, Bobby Leslie (Lynette), Daniel “Chip” (Lena) Leslie, Misty (Nate) Genet and Jennifer Leslie; grandchildren, Brandon (Heather), Simmi (Tammy), Bobby Jr., Blade, Jessica, Matt, Travis, Zachary, Carlie and Emily, many great grandchildren and too many special friends to name, he never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life at a later date. Due to his endless love of kitties, puppies and all animals, donations may be made to ASPCA in his memory.
