Lois J. Bennett, 77, passed away December 12, 2022. She was born in Akron to the late John and Ida (Moore) Bennett and was a 1963 Central High School graduate. She attended Akron University for two years and Ohio University for comedy writing, eventually doing stand-up.
Lois worked for ICWUC for 18 years, was a clinical hypnotist, and was a long-time member of The Chapel. She loved animals, volunteering for the Humane Society, and Weathervane Theater.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John W. “Bill” Bennett, and nephew, Andrew. She is survived by her sister, Barbara (Dave) Smith; nephews, David (Linda) Smith and James (Shana) Smith; great-nieces and nephews, Ian (Jessica), Ethan, Eiljah, Jude and Saoirsle; and best friend, Nikki Rafferty.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Pastor Todd Schreiner officiating Calling hours will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, from 10 – 11 a.m., with burial at Hillside Memorial Park.
