Richard Paul Dillon, 88, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021 in New Market, TN. He was born in Akron, was an Army veteran of the Korean War and retired from Goodyear with 43 years of service. Richard and his wife enjoyed traveling the country in their motorhome and they eventually relocated to New Market, TN, where he was a member of Cedar Grove U.M.C. and a 46-year member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Dillon; parents, Floyd F. Dillon Sr. and Evelyn Senninger Dillon; brother, Floyd Dillon Jr.; sisters, LaVon Dillon and Cozette Lemaster; and grandson, Ryan Lewis. He is survived by his step-daughter, Debra L. (Patrick) Moore of New Market; step-son, Donald (Karen Harouff) Butcher of Akron; brother, Donald L. (Carol) Dillon of Akron; grandchildren, Rex W. Brickley, Jerry and Adrienne Butcher, Kellie Brickley, Robert Butcher, Courtney and Scott Bergdorf, Jennifer (Anthony) Wagner, Donielle Butcher, and Ashley Butcher; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of U.T. Hospice in Morristown.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home & Chapel, 760 E. Market St. Burial with military honors will follow at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
